The apostle Paul well knew the nature of thought and encouraged the people he communicated with to train themselves to a new and productive way of thinking. The apostle Paul knew that thoughts can be unlawful at times and need to be corrected.
Our thoughts and feelings are the root of the things that happen in our lives, but by renewing and guarding our thoughts and feelings we can have changes for the better.
Here are just a few of Paul’s teachings: “Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…” (Rom. 12:2)… “Casting down imaginations, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ” (2 Cor. 10:4)…”Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, think on these things” (Phil. 4:8).
What are your most frequent thoughts from day to day? Are you allowing thoughts of revenge, hatred, envy, regret, limitations and such like to fill your mind? Thoughts of this nature are negative and produce negative fruitage in our lives, robbing us of peace of mind and keeping us in bondage.
Think outside of the box by approaching your problems in a new and productive way–by going to God who is Divine Intelligence, who sees and knows all things, and is willing to guide you to the highest and best solution to your problems.
As believers in Christ, we have His mind within us and as we keep our minds stayed on Him and His words, His attributes begin to flow within us like “streams of living water,” healing and creating new and positive thoughts and happenings in our lives. We can then bring into captivity every erroneous thought to whatsoever things that are “true, honest, just, pure, lovely and of good report,” and benefit from them. As we change to this way of thinking, we will witness great changes in our lives.
Practical Reflections : As a believer in Christ, His mind is in me and His mind is peace, love, truth, obedience, victory and much more. Through the power of the mind of Christ in me, I am more than a conqueror; I can bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.
Words of Truth: “The mind of Christ in me blesses me with a new way of thinking and order is restored in my life.” “The mind of Christ in me is the light of my salvation and the strength of my life.”
May the Lord richly bless you with His peace, love and prosperity.
